Top 20 Video Games of 2012

Shown below are the Top 20 Video Games of 2012.

By looking at this list it shows clearly that Assassin's Creed III is the top game of the year up to date now. It shows that it is compatible with the Xbox 360, Playstaystion 3 and Wii U. It is published by ubisoft, whereas so is 'Just Dance 4', it proves that ubisoft have dug deep and provide a vast range of different games because Assassins Creed is a Action-Adventure Shooter game whereas Just Dance's genre is more rythm and is a singing/dancing game for Casual Gamers.
Also by looking at this list it shows that EA have published 3 of the best games out now which is more than any other gaming publishers in this top 20 list. This shows that they must make the best games right now and may possibly bring out a game that could become best game of the year.

Skylanders

Skylanders has been marketed in different ways, for example, it has been advertised all over the internet, websites, social networking sites etc. Also advertised in shop windows, this is good for Toy's for Bob and n-space as they will pay top companies little money to advertise there game and they will then make that money back from the amount of people who will buy the game. It has mostly been advertsied on top websites that most gamers use to buy there games so it can be seen by anybody around the world. It has also got a trailer on youtube which millions of people use every single day, this is great as they now have hundreds and thousands of views to their trailer from people watching it, so it is free advertisement for them but it gets more and more people talking about the new game.

The game was released on the 19th October 2012 in Europe. Skylanders Giants is the second game realeased of the Skylanders series. The developers of Skylanders Giants are, Toys for Bob and n-space (Nintendo 3DS), and publisher- Activision, this allowed the expansion of popularity of the game by releasing it on mostly all platforms such as, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Nintendo 3DS, Wii and the soon to be relealsed as the number 1 Christmas hit, the Wii U which was mentioned in my previous blog post.
Being a Spyro fan when I was younger, the new release of Skylanders: Giants looked really interesting to me even though i didn't play the first Skylanders, I am still hoping to buy it for my younger sibling as it looks like a great game to play.

Skylanders Giants is a video game that involves the use of toys called skylanders. Skylanders Giants is the sequel to the 2011 hit Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure and is the second game created in the Skylanders series. Skylanders Giants is so unique as it includes symbosis from its combination of a video game that also inclueds toys.. GIANTS. It is so unique as to play the game you have to buy characters seperately to the game to use in the game and is a great sucess and an easy way for the developers to make money. The characters that you can buy for the game is all of the Spyro games  characters, due to that being very successful it is going to make Skylanders very successful as it is going to want to make Spyro fans want to try out this new quality game.

Skylanders Giants will be will be released in different versions, it will have a starter pack which roughly costs around £50 and a booster pack that will cost a little less than £40. The starter pack includes the Skylanders: Giants game, The portal of power, Two Skylanders (S2 Cynder & Jet-Vac on consoles and S2 Cynder & Pop Fizz on Nintendo 3DS) and One Giant (Tree Rex). The booster pack only contains the game and Tree Rex - A Giant. With these packs you do not get all of the giants, every other giant that a gamer would like to purchase will cost around £10 each. I think this is very cheap as it is such an inventive and creative game.

    Social Gaming - Zynga

Zynga is a free to play business model and gets its money from advertisments over social networking such as facebook. An example of this could be a 'pop up' advertisement that may come up on your screen telling you to buy something and you can get something through credit card payments like a free barn on farmville. They did however get in trouble for this. Also, you get asked to sign up for things like 'Netflix' and they would get money from the payments people make.
They also got in trouble because of scamming these social gamers as they were not saying who they were doing buisness with they just wanted the money off people.
The company's top three games are FarmVille, FrontierVille and CityVille. They have accounted for 57 percent of online game revenue. Total revenue was $329 million for the quarter ending March 31, 2012.
